EN→IT Archive.org versionThere’s a lot to like about the Acer Aspire R14. At only $650 it’s affordable and looks great with its faux aluminum design. The device is powerful enough to handle most computing tasks and the Zero Air Gap screen design allows for precise and responsive touch controls. Unfortunately none of that makes up for the fact that the underlying display is subpar. The limited 1366 x 768 resolution isn’t really acceptable these days considering the laptop’s cost. The screen not only suffers from narrow viewing angles but the glossy screen surface is even more problematic due to its highly reflective nature.

It's also a very good performer on our benchmark tests, even if its margin of victory is slight. It's therefore unfortunate that the rest of the system is so lackluster. Lots of little stumbles, like the mass of bloatware, loud touchpad, lack of Bluetooth and 5GHz Wi-Fi, and fuzzy, low-resolution screen keep the Aspire R 14 from earning a higher score. While $230 more expensive, the HP Spectre x360 13t (13-4003) holds on as our Editors' Choice midrange convertible-hybrid laptop because it has a clearer IPS screen with 1080p HD native resolution, much less bloatware, and better connectivity, including 802.11ac.

Non privo di pecche. Con l'Aspire R14, Acer realizza un sottile convertibile da 14" con un display che ruota di 360 gradi. Tuttavia, non è certo un affare con un prezzo di ben 1100 Euro (~$1195). Il portatile ha alcune pecche nonostante il prezzo elevato.

At that point, the Acer Aspire R 14 serves a decent option, because you get the guts of a 13 inch in the body of something a little larger, with a battery to match. If the battery is the big deal and you tend to do a lot of work, Acer’s R 14 is definitely worth a look, provided you can deal with that screen.

Acer: Nel 1976, l'azienda è stata fondata a Taiwan con il nome Multitech e nel 1987 è stata ribattezzata Acer o Acer Group. La gamma di prodotti comprende, ad esempio, laptop, tablet, smartphone, desktop, monitor, TV e periferiche per computer. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).
