73% Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G in prova: il top dei top economici vale quanto costa?

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ è un telefono che fa mediamente tutto bene e a cui gli si rimprovera solo un’interfaccia MIUI 14 troppo invasiva (specie nei primi giorni di utilizzo) con applicazioni preinstallate di scarso appeal (ma che un utente medio potrebbe comunque apprezzare, come giochi vari, Mi Store, AliExpress, Shein, Booking) e con popup cookie nelle app di sistema, fastidiosi per il solo fatto che ci siano e che facciano parte delle scelte commerciali di Redmi. La registrazione video non è un punto di forza del telefono, e in generale le foto sono gradevoli per la fotocamera principale soprattutto se si fotografa all’aperto. Redmi Note 13 Pro+ ha comunque un ottimo AMOLED con una buona luminosità all’esterno e buone capacità nella riproduzione di video HDR. E ha un caricabatterie da 120 W velocissimo che fa davvero dimenticare l’ansia da autonomia, che comunque è molto buona.

Xiaomi sta lanciando tanti telefoni, forse troppi, il rischio è di complicare la scelta del consumatore. Redmi Note 13 Pro+ è sicuramente un prodotto di qualità e di sostanza ma il posizionamento di prezzo a partire da 449 euro rischia di metterlo in diretta concorrenza con altri prodotti dell’azienda cinese, soprattutto se si può allocare un budget leggermente superiore. Tuttavia, questo smartphone non scontenta e ha dei plus tangibili, dalla ricarica veloce all’IP 68, ma non è un autentico camera phone come il marketing lo vorrebbe far apparire. Probabilmente il vero best buy è il fratello minore Redmi Note 13 Pro, commercializzato a partire da 329,90 euro.

Bene, eccoci quindi a tirare le somme, come sempre partendo dal prezzo. Sono due le conclusioni che potremmo estrapolare da questa recensione dello Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ e variano in base al prezzo che prendiamo come riferimento. Se penso ai 499€ richiesti di listino, ma anche ai 449€ del modello 8-256, faccio fatica a consigliarlo e non perché abbia dei difetti o mancanze, anzi rispetto al passato le novità sono tante e importanti, ma con 40-50 euro in più ci si porta a casa un 13T Pro che fa meglio su quasi tutti i fronti. O comunque vi direi di risparmiare e prendere il Redmi Note 13 Pro base, che costa molto meno e non perde molto rispetto a questo Pro+. Se penso invece allo street price, e al fatto che lo si possa trovare già intorno ai 350 euro ecco che cambia tutto.

Con Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G, Xiaomi era chiamata a confermare le ambizioni accennate lo scorso anno con il modello precedente, ma non si può certo dire che l'obiettivo sia stato completamente raggiunto. Per quanto il dispositivo vanti un design convincente, una solida dotazione hardware e un ottimo display, ci sono diversi aspetti sui quali si percepisce ancora una certa inclinazione da smartphone di fascia bassa. Fotocamere secondarie che sono poco più di un orpello e soprattutto un software ancora invaso da bloatware, pubblicità, notifiche invasive e da un programma di supporto quasi predatorio sono dei grossi limiti, difficili da digerire per un dispositivo con questo posizionamento sul mercato. La prospettiva potrebbe cambiare con la giusta offerta (anche se le alternative della concorrenza non mancano di certo), ma se Xiaomi vuole davvero essere un attore credibile su questa fascia di prezzo deve abbandonare alcune cattive abitudini.

La serie redmi di Xiaomi si è fatta apprezzare negli anni per capacità tecniche ma soprattutto per prezzo molto competitivo e anche quest’anno viene rinnovata la tradizione. Xiaomi è sempre vista come un’azienda con un rapporto prezzo qualità di alto livello e questo smartphone conferma la percezione diffusa. Per chi vuole spendere meno ci sono sempre le opzioni dei modelli con scheda tecnica meno ricca, ma siamo convinti che la caratteristica chiave del redmi note 13 in tutte le sue versioni sia l’ottimo rapporto tra prezzo e qualità. Non sappiamo se sia il caso di parlare degli anni garantiti per le patch di sicurezza, perché con il passaggio dall’attuale MIUI 14 con Android 13 al nuovo sistema operativo HyperOS non è certo cosa possa succedere su questo fronte. In ogni caso, per chi cerca un prodotto completo a prezzo competitivo uno smartphone redmi è sicuramente una buona scelta.

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G è disponibile in Italia dal mese di gennaio 2024 nella versione da 8/256 GB a 449 euro oppure da 12/512 GB a 499 euro. Cifra alta che potrebbe farvi propendere per il Redmi Note 13 Pro senza Plus ma in cosa differisce? Cosa si guadagna e cosa si perde? Le differenze non sono poche soprattutto se si considera che la differenza di prezzo è di soli 50 euro. La velocità di ricarica passa da 120W a 67W, il display è di minor qualità, più simile alle unità dello scorso anno, il vetro frontale è piatto, le memorie sono UFS 2.2 e non UFS 3.1 e la certificazione contro acqua e polvere passa da IP68 a IP54. In ultimo, ma potrebbe essere quasi un fattore positivo invece che negativo, il processore è lo Snapdragon 7s Gen2 anziché il Mediatek 7200 Ultra. Complessivamente Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G si fa valere con una scheda tecnica bella completa.

Il listino di 499 euro mi sembra un po' troppo alto per uno smartphone che va sì mediamente bene in tutto ma non eccelle in nulla e non porta con sé nessuna novità. Mi incuriosiscono di più il Redmi 13 base a 299 euro e soprattutto il 13C a 179 euro, questa è la fascia dove i Redmi sono più forti!

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ viene proposto, nel taglio 12/512, a 499,90 €, senza offerte di lancio (per ora). Un prezzo sicuramente alto ma che sarà destinato a calare (probabilmente anche velocemente), viste le ragioni che spesso spingono (o costringono) i produttori a tenere alti i listini. Ho apprezzato tantissimo Redmi Note 13 Pro+, uno smartphone di qualità che potrebbe convincere un’ampia fetta di pubblico. Ho invece apprezzato meno (molto meno) la scelta di farlo uscire con una vecchia versione di Android, fattore che spero spinga Xiaomi ad offrire un major update in più (che proprio in più non sarebbe) e che inevitabilmente incide sul voto finale.

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ recensione: un netto cambio di passo per un potenziale best-seller

Per portarsi a casa la versione da 12 Gigabyte di Ram e 512 Gigabyte di memoria interna sono necessari 499,90 euro, che diventano 469,90 euro per quella da 8/256 Gigabyte. Prezzi in linea con la fascia media, ma probabilmente un po' troppo elevati rispetto a quanto offerto dalla concorrenza. Del resto la stessa Xiaomi ha lanciato recentemente il Poco X6 Pro a 349 euro, senza dimenticare la presenza a 399 euro del Pixel 7a. Un posizionamento a 399 euro della versione oggetto della nostra recensione avrebbe probabilmente sparigliato il mercato. C'è però un aspetto da non sottovalutare. Xiaomi ha infatti presentato altri prodotti accanto al Redmi Note 13 Pro+: dal Redmi Note 13 posizionato a partire da 199,90 euro (schermo Amoled, fotocamera principale da 108 Megapixel) al Redmi Note 13 5G posizionato a partire da 279,90 euro, fino ad arrivare al Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G e 5G (schermo Amoled, fotocamera principale da 200 Megapixel, processore Snapdragon 7s Gen.2 di Qualcomm e prezzo di partenza di 329,90 euro).

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is a good smartphone, even a really good one. The AMOLED display completely convinces me, as does the main camera with 200 MP and the fast charging with 120 W. The smartphone is prettier—for my taste—than many other inexpensive smartphones and also has a high-quality finish. Another positive aspect is that you will be provided with security updates for up to four years, although Android 13, which is no longer quite as fresh as it used to be, leaves a somewhat bland aftertaste. I would like to say one thing about the points of criticism: Yes, I am grumbling about the fact that there is no wireless charging, no telephoto camera and the ultra-wide-angle camera is rather "average". But don't forget that you can buy this slicer from 450 euros and I'm complaining at a really high level here. I'm convinced that people who mainly use the main camera anyway, don't play the most technically demanding games and don't have a curved display phobia will be absolutely happy with this smartphone.

The videos on this phone also could have been better. But, the software is the only thing holding this phone down. So, that’s one thing you need to really consider when buying this Xiaomi offering. All in all, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is a well-balanced midrange phone for the price tag of NPR 50,000! It’s almost a no-brainer choice!

Now, in some ways these phones are all massively different, starting with the cameras. In our side-by-side test the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G served up the most natural colours. Both Pros are also a step up for low light and HDR shots. However, any kind of motion means blurry photos! Performance also improves as you upgrade from the Redmi Note 13 5G up to the Pro and Pro Plus models. The regular can cope with PubG etc but you'll need a Xiaomi Pro to play Genshin Impact. Battery life is excellent on all three Xiaomi smartphones, but the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and that Plus model boost the charging speeds. And you've also got some bonuses like full water resistance on the Note 13 Pro Plus 5G, great news at this budget phone price.

The display quality is also excellent and we were extremely pleased with the performance of the device in everyday tasks. The lightning-quick 120W charging is also a phenomenal feature and we do appreciate the inclusion of a 120W charger in a world where they are fast disappearing from packages. However, we weren't quite as pleased with the camera. The lossless zoom feature from the massive 200MP resolution is truly neat but there were notable color issues plaguing all the cameras on the device. The good news is that it's fixable and we hope the company adjusts things based on the feedback provided here as the camera hardware is otherwise quite capable.

However, Xiaomi needs to work on the software experience, aiming to make MIUI (or HyperOS in the future) less cluttered and perhaps free of some pre-installed apps. The big question remains – will loyal Xiaomi users be willing to invest over Rs 30K in a Redmi Note phone? Only time will tell.
