Il Toshiba NB250 è un netbook piccolo e compatto nonché decisamente economico, ideale per tutte le tasche e per chi desidera uno strumento facilmente trasportabile e in grado di assicurare la massima connettività durante gli spostamenti. Il design è accattivante e sono presenti il lettore di schede di memoria e il Wi-Fi, mentre mancano, ovviamente, funzioni tipiche dei Notebook, come masterizzatore e scheda grafica.

Toshiba has put together a decent netbook at a decent price with the NB250. It's solidly built and completely unrevolutionary, like any netbook should be, but it's also evidence that this sector of the market is far from deceased. If, for some reason, you're convinced you need a tablet PC for light mobile working and web browsing, you need your head checked.

Toshiba’s shorter battery life definitely takes some of the shine off of the mini NB255, though it is on par with the majority of other netbooks out there, which for the most part average around 7ish hours. The build quality of the unit is excellent, I’d feel confident throwing it around in my bag or letting my nieces and nephews play with it. The design and performance is at the top of the netbook curve and the keyboard could use a little bit more love. If price and durability are your two main concerns then the Toshiba NB255 is a solid choice.

As more and more netbook makers try to capture the interest of budget-conscious consumers with sub-$300 netbooks, there's a danger of making too many compromises, or doing so in the wrong areas. Toshiba's shorter battery life definitely takes some of the shine off of the mini NB255, though it excels in other areas. We like that the design and performance is at the top of the netbook curve. However, the ASUS Eee PC 1001P lasts over 2 hours longer on a charge and is just as aesthetically pleasing, all for the same price.

Provided you opt for the similarly priced six-cell NB250, it will serve you well-enough. However, with so many excellent netbooks to choose from, it does little to distinguish itself from the pack.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3150: Scheda grafica integrata (memoria condivisa) nell'Intel Atom N4xx CPUs. Minimamente più veloce rispetto ad una vecchia GMA 950 e pertanto non adatta ai giochi 3D o ai video HD (solo accelerazione MPEG2).

Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.

Intel Atom:

La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).
