EN→IT Archive.org versionSony's M-Series looks great and has an excellent display and webcam, but it narrowly misses the mark. While it offers good value for money for a premium netbook, other 10.1in models offer just that little bit more at a similar price point. Samsung's NB30, Asus' EEC PC, Toshiba's brilliant NB305 and even MSI's U160 all fare slightly better. Of course, what you won't get if you opt for something else is the pleasure of owning a Sony Vaio.

Sony didn’t do this, and after the pricey Vaio P Series and W Series, we have the M Series. Unfortunately it doesn’t meet the usual high standards we’ve come to expect from a Vaio.

Instead, the aim was to keep its premium prices and try something different, but the quite baffling P-Series pocket laptop didn't exactly make waves. Standard components, uninspired design and poor battery life make this a VAIO to avoid.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3150: Scheda grafica integrata (memoria condivisa) nell'Intel Atom N4xx CPUs. Minimamente più veloce rispetto ad una vecchia GMA 950 e pertanto non adatta ai giochi 3D o ai video HD (solo accelerazione MPEG2).
Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.

Intel Atom:
La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).
N450: CPU Intel Atom per Netbooks con controller di memoria integrato e GPU GMA 3150. LE prestazioni del sistema dovrebbero essere solo minimamente superiori rispetto alla precedente combinazione Atom N280 / GMA 950.
