Nella redazione di AndroidPIT io uso un pc con sistema operativo Windows 10 Pro. A casa utilizzo un MacBook Pro e non ho mai pensato di sostituire uno di questi due dispositivi con un tablet.

Un ottimo tablet android, probabilmente il migliore in assoluto. Ma che prezzo!!! 799 euro per la verisone LTE e 100 euro in meno per quella solo wifi. Anche in questo si allinea a iPad pro 9.7 dal quale trae molti spunti. Vince lato display, pareggia lato penna, perde lato audio e app dedicate. C'è la cover con tastiera dedicata e per un uso lavorativo va proprio bene. Purtroppo il mercato dei tablet, sopratutto Android, è praticamente morto (lo avevo detto..utili per divano e water...con gli smartphone sempre più grandi che li hanno di fatto soppiantati) chissà se questo ottimo tablet riuscirà a risvegliarlo? Anche perchè qui le funzioni penna sono le vere killer application. Valido anche per i nostalgici di un note performante!!!

È un equilibrio che Tab S3 mantiene perché la sua durata riesce a chiudere la giornata in contesti importanti: una videoriunione su Skype di 2 ore, tanto browsing e tante email, la puntata di una serie sul treno, mezz'ora di navigatore con GPS e tastiera + penna sempre a disposizione - dovrebbero permettervi di tornare a casa con del margine. Visto che lo scopo è sostituire un laptop in queste situazioni, non è male. La ricarica rapida raggiunge il 50% in 60 minuti con l'alimentatore da 9V.

After spending the past few weeks with Samsung’s latest tablet I have grown to using it more. Based on its portability, decent battery life and quick charging. Display is still some of the best out there but would love to see HDR supported by apps to really push its full potential. Optional keyboard is nice for doing work but can be crammed for some and also doesn’t magnetically close. Included S-Pen is a nice touch and awesome to use but wish it had a built-in slot or magnet for the Tab S3 . The Galaxy Tab S3 is realistically a great media consumption powerhouse and is great for viewing content. One plus over say the iPad Pro or even Pixel C is that the Tab S3 has expandable storage pushing it to 256GB. That’s a lot of movies. That $600 price tag is a bit hard to swallow though.

The Galaxy Tab S3 has a promising list of features, including its HDR-friendly screen, quad-speaker array, included S Pen and powerful processor. And they mostly work as touted. Its colorful and sharp display, coupled with loud audio, makes for satisfying multimedia consumption. It’s also a responsive machine, thanks to its Snapdragon 820 chipset, and lasts more than 11 hours on a charge. The new S Pen enables smooth drawing, thanks to its finer nib and improved pressure sensitivity. But the Tab S3 and its companion keyboard, which costs an extra $130, aren’t good enough for intensive typing and multitasking. If you can stomach the $600 price and don’t need to do serious work on the Tab S3, you’ll find it satisfying.

The high price of the S3 also puts it head-to-head with some excellent Windows offerings that have the advantage of running full desktop productivity software. However, if you aren’t budget-conscious and are set on Android, the stunning screen and integrated stylus functionality may be worth the extra money. Personally, I’m really torn. I rely heavily on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), and would love to update it to something that ran a modern OS and had better performance. But it works okay, stores its S Pen internally, and is long since paid for. So shelling out $600+ to get a new version that isn’t perfect still seems like a stretch. For those ready to spring for the Tab S3, it’s expected to be available starting March 24th.

So far the Tab S3 matches Apple's iPad Pro 9.7 in pretty much every category with its display, stereo audio, stylus, and keyboard support, but unfortunately we still don't know how competitive it will be compared to the iPad Pro, because Samsung is refusing to reveal the price. Right now, Samsung Singapore is only willing to reveal a vague release date of "Q2 2017" and that both Wi-Fi and LTE versions will be available in two colors: black and silver.
