Il notebook da ufficio MateBook D 15 di Huawei convince con un prezzo basso di 549 euro, rimane eccezionalmente silenzioso con elevate prestazioni di sistema e offre un elegante involucro in metallo con un display IPS opaco sufficientemente luminoso. Anche la tastiera e il touchpad del portatile da 15,6 pollici sono convincenti, ma la veloce RAM LPDDR4X non è espandibile.

Tenendo conto di tutte le caratteristiche si tratta di un prezzo complessivamente adeguato ed allineato, ma che forse pone questo notebook fuori dal range di prezzo al quale si poteva acquistare il modello 2020 con CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3500U, 8GB di memoria e 256GB di SSD: un portatile che come abbiamo visto era meno potente ma che grazie al prezzo molto aggressivo (a lungo è stato possibile acquistarlo a 549€) ha raccolto un grande successo commerciale. Una versione con la nuova piattaforma Intel e storage più contenuto potrebbe far fronte alle necessità di molti utenti, così come era stato per il modello 2020: per il momento, tuttavia, questa è l'unica configurazione in vendita.

Il Matebook D15 di Huawei si aggiorna alla versione 2021, che porta con se i nuovi processori Intel di undicesima generazione e la loro grafica Intel Iris Xe, che convince! Peccato solo per alcune mancanze che ho riscontrato ma che potrebbero essere giustificate dal prezzo..

Pur con 100 euro in meno rispetto al listino il prezzo resta comunque alto. I compromessi descritti sopra sono accettabili a fronte di una cifra inferiore a quella della concorrenza che, invece, intorno agli 800 euro propone già molte alternative altrettanto valide, se non di più. Diciamo che potrei cominciare a considerare questo MateBook D15 con altri 100-150 euro in meno sul cartellino.

All in all, the Huawei Matebook D 15 is an all-around decent laptop but not worth the price it carries in Nepal. Another issue is the sparse availability and aftermarket service. It will be considerably difficult to find parts for Huawei laptops compared to ones from established players like Dell and Asus. The closest competition to the Huawei Matebook D15 is another Macbook-like laptop, the Mi Notebook Pro. It costs exactly the same but blows the D15 out of the water. First and foremost, the 2.5K display on the Notebook Pro has much better color reproduction as well as a 16:10 aspect ratio. Secondly, it is powered by an 11th-gen H-series processor, which is a mild improvement compared to the G7 on the Matebook D15. Finally, the conventional camera placement also makes it ideal for video conferences. Almost forgot; it also supports Thunderbolt 4. The Huawei Matebook D15 would have been feasible if the price aligned with its global pricing. But for now, it is just another Windows laptop in a Mac-like shell that cannot keep up with what other companies offer in this range.

The Intel version of the Huawei MateBook D 15 is a good budget offer. The laptop has a good-looking sleek design, it has a thin profile and it’s light at the same time. So, portability is one of its key selling points. You don’t have to worry when you are away from the charger – the small battery unit can last for 10 hours of Web browsing which is a great score for this 42Wh unit (actually, even better compared to the AMD sibling). In addition, the notebook has a compact USB-C charger which is great – if you have bigger pockets it’ll fit there with ease. The Intel Core i5-1135G7 (which is one of the available CPU variants) and its iGPU are good enough for some light games as well – CS:GO and Dota 2 can run just fine on (at least) Low settings.
