This computer is what Intel promised when it introduced the Ultrabook concept. Thin and fast laptops don’t have to be the standard bearer for their manufacturer, and the HP Envy 4 proves it. While using it, I could tell that HP makes a better laptop. There are certainly design decisions that differentiate this laptop from its upmarket cousin, the HP Spectre Envy line. But that’s okay, because there are a great deal of people–perhaps you’re one–who need a computer for daily life, not to benchmark or lust over. The HP Envy 4 does almost everything well and would be an decent, useable computer for just about anybody.

This isn’t quite as impressive as the Acer Aspire S5 we recently reviewed, but then it’s also much cheaper too. For the mid-range price and great “Ultrabook” specs this will surely make anyone happy for under $800. Overall the The Envy 4 is fairly named, and some others in this range will “envy” it. Featuring a premium design and attractive use of the color red certainly makes it an Ultrabook worth checking out. Enjoy the pictures and some of our other HP reviews below.

The HP Envy 4-1030us is a new Ultrabook that caught our eye because of its sleek design, Beats Audio and strong set of internal components. While we were impressed with most of what this new comer had to offer, we were disappointed at a strange design flaw and a poor display.

For $799, the HP Envy 4-1030us is a highly portable and stylish Ultrabook that provides snappy performance at a reasonable price. Add to that excellent audio, a comfy backlit keyboard, a cool-running chassis and fairly long battery life, and this could easily be one of our favorite value-priced Ultrabooks. We're just concerned about quality control.

The HP Envy 4 is aptly named. It's a solid machine, with good performance scores, excellent speakers and audio enhancement software, and a mediocre screen, keyboard, and trackpad. The only big drawback is the battery life, which is disappointingly under 6 hours, despite HP's tantalizing promise of 9. Luckily, the power block is small enough to carry with you, though plugging in the laptop might cramp the Envy's style. The Envy 4's premium design and attractive use of colour certainly makes it the "envy" of other Ultrabooks.

We’re a bit confused about why HP has decided to take the Envy line down-market. Luxury pricing for luxury products was the entire point, and there’s no reason why the Envy 4 could not have been a very nice Pavilion. HP’s decision to market nearly the same PC as both an Ultrabook and a Sleekbook is also confusing.

Intel HD Graphics 4000: Processore grafico high end tra i modelli Ivy Bridge. Offre una differente velocità clock nei diversi modelli di CPU (da ULV a desktop quad core) e di conseguenza con prestazioni variabili.

La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).
