ZenBook Pro Duo è una prova di forza per ASUS. La prova che l'azienda è riuscita a dare un senso a ciò che per altri sarebbe stato puro marketing. ZenBook Pro Duo non è tanto il primo portatile con due schermi, ma il primo con due "veri" schermi. Che lavorano assieme o separatamente, che si scambiano applicazioni e flussi dati, che interagiscono con semplicità ed immediatezza. E poi è anche un vero top di gamma, con un hardware completo e ben sfruttato, ed un design elegante, a dispetto delle dimensioni non troppo contenute. Ha anche lui le sue sbavature qua e là, anche senza stare a menzionare il facile prezzo, ma per essere il capostipite di un nuovo genere è senz'altro nato sotto una buona stella.

Il problema, se così vogliamo chiamarlo, è solamente il prezzo. Questo ZenBook Pro Duo nella versione prevista per il mercato italiano avrà infatti un prezzo di listino di 2999 euro. Sicuramente una cifra importante, che in pochi sono disposti a spendere e che potrebbe far storcere il naso a molti utenti. In questo specifico caso però, a parere mio, occorre fare un ragionamento un pochino diverso. Nel prezzo di questo notebook sono inclusi anni di ricerca e sviluppo e l'innovazione ovviamente ha un costo. Proporre un prodotto di questo tipo a quasi 3.000 euro oggi permetterà all'utente di trovare questa stessa tecnologia su notebook più economici un domani.

The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo's 4K OLED screen is superb, the keyboard as good as any put into a laptop, the trackpad almost confusingly usable, and we'd never say no to a RTX 2060 graphics card. We're even charmed by the ScreenPad Plus, much more so than the second-screen models that Asus has slipped under some of its trackpads in other models (such as the ZenBook 14). However, start prodding at the second screen feature to see what it can really do and it will often start falling apart at the seams. Which is a shame, as when it's good it's really, genuinely usable. All in all, the enBook Pro Duo meanders between the sublime and ridiculous. And we rather love it for that.

Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.
