EN→ITIn my mind, I see two issues, with Chromebooks in general and the C214 in particular. First, there’s the obvious one: ChromeOS. ChromeOS is great if you live on the web, but as a learning platform, I think it falls short. If you want web apps, you have Safari and Chrome, and at the same time, you get a superior app ecosystem to explore, a better display, a better designed, more responsive UI, a powerful speaker, faster storage, and more. Getting a rugged case and keyboard will push the price over the 30k mark, however. You could also spend a smidge over 30k and get the power and flexibility of a real desktop OS like Windows 10 in a laptop powered by a powerful, 10th Gen Intel Core CPU or 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen APU. On a budget, and as a student-only device, there’s certainly an argument to be made for the C214, but I think it’s worth digging a little deeper and spending a little more on either an iPad or a laptop if you’re looking for long-term value.

EN→ITGiven the fact that Chrome OS is particularly light, we don’t see a problem in using slow and low-capacity storage. However, we strongly advise getting the 64GB version. Something that is also interesting, is that the laptop can be found with 8GB of RAM. To be honest, we don’t feel you will ever need that in a laptop with this hardware. But you know… Chrome is Chrome. So, should you invest in this laptop? And in the Chrome OS in general. Well, considering the fact that you don’t pay a premium for the operating system, and that the laptop is intended for students, probably yes. Just keep in mind that you shouldn’t expect a lot from it, and of course, if you care about the looks – it gives a 2015 vibe all the way.

Adattatore grafico integrato di fascia bassa con supporto DirectX 12, che si trova in alcuni SoCs ULV della serie Gemini Lake. Rispetto all'HD Graphics 500, il 600 offre prestazioni di visualizzazione migliorate. Rispetto alla più veloce UHD Graphics 605, la 600 offre meno shader a velocità di clock inferiori.
