The Aspire S3 isn't the most attractive ultrabook on the market, but does offer excellent value for money. Standout features include the very usable keyboard, fast resume times and reasonable battery life. For business users who can do without features such as a fingerprint scanner and a Trusted Platform Module, the S3 represents a good option. Our review unit retails for £869, making it well over £250 cheaper than the Toshiba Portégé Z830, which is still the best choice for business users.

The Acer Aspire S3 is a well built unit that can provide reasonable performance. It handled all the tasks that is was presented with during the review period. I can understand the reason why the USB and HDMI ports were located on the rear of the unit due to the constrictions placed on the width of an ultrabook but hope a better solution can be implemented in subsequent models.

Intel HD Graphics 3000: 3 imminenti (Q1 2011) schede grafiche integrate nel processore Intel Sandy Bridge (Core ix-2xxx). La 3000 / 200 è la versione più veloce internamente chiamata GT2 con 12 Execution Units (EUs).

Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.
