  • TDP (Thermal Design Power): consumo medio di corrente espresso in Watt di un processore (non il massimo)


  • Dhrystone: Benchmark ideato nel 1984 Rheinhold Weicker per misurare e confrontare le prestazioni dei calcolatori. Il benchmark Dhrystone, è composto da codice standard (inizialmente era scritto in Ada e in seguito fu convertito in C) e viene periodicamente aggiornato per ridurre gli svantaggi che potrebbero avere variabili quali hardware, compilatore e ambiente. Al contrario di Whetstone, del quale sta prendendo il posto, Dhrystone non impiega operazioni in virgola mobile e lavora sulle stringhe.


  • Whetstone:Benchmark che misura la velocità e l'efficienza con cui un calcolatore esegue le operazioni in virgola mobile. Tuttavia, poichè i risultati prodotti non sono da considerare attendibili, questo benchmark è stato quasi del tutto accantonato per lasciare il posto al Dhrystone. In origine Whetstone era basato su misurazioni di programmi Algol in ambiente scientifico e ingegneristico e in seguito fu tradotto in Fortran.
