Powerless. Lenovos 11.6-incher is the cheapest alternative to the Acer Timeline X 1830T. The Core i5-520UM is a disappointing choice when it comes to performance, but how does battery life fare with the equipped 48Wh battery? How about the display and waste heat? Big surprise here: eSATA.

EN→IT Archive.org versionAfter spending the last few days with the IdeaPad U160, we've come to the conclusion that the laptop is only for the few that demand more processing power than some of the other ultraportables on the market, yet are willing to put up with a few annoyances to have it. No matter how you look at it, these days $1,150 is a lot of money to shell out on a smaller machine, especially when other laptops out there that are just as light, run longer on a charge, and cost less -- just take the $799 13-inch Toshiba Portégé 705 or $450 Acer Aspire One 721. Yes, the U160 packs more CPU power, but at the end of the day you'll have to live with the heat and battery drain that it ultimately causes. And frankly, we wouldn't wish that upon anyone.

Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

520UM: Il Core i5-520UM è un processore energeticamente efficiente a voltaggio ultra low per portatili. Utilizzando il Turbo Boost può arrivare fino a 1.86 GHz. razie all'Hyperthreading, 4 threads possono essere processati contemporaneamente. Nel pacchetto sono inclusi una scheda grafica integrata (Intel HD Graphics da 166-500 MHz) ed un controller di memoria DDR3-800. Rispetto al Core i7-620UM, la 520UM offre meno Level 3 Cache ed un Turbo Boost con un clock rate più lento.
