The company has decided to use AMD's Athlon Neo X2 L335 processor instead of one of Intel's ultra-low-voltage chips, so we were interested to see how the machine would perform both in terms of speed and battery life. Despite its relatively low price tag, the HP Pavilion dm3-1020ea still manages to effortlessly combine slick looks and great performance with impressive battery life. As a result, it's easy to recommend to those after a stylish ultra-portable laptop.

Despite some very minor flaws, the Pavilion dm3-1020EA is nevertheless a stunningly designed, highly usable and eminently portable machine. While its lack of an integrated ODD is unfortunate, this is still a great mobile device and one that is very easy to recommend.

All the same, it still gets a Recommended Award thanks to outstanding design, decent performance and a keyboard whose quality belies the affordable asking price. Anyone in need of a flexible, portable laptop will find the dm3 an excellent servant.

ATI Radeon HD 3200: Scheda grafica integrata (sul chipset RS780M) con memoria condivisa basata sul core HD 2400. Troviamo anche il motore video UVD che decodifica video HD. Inoltre, supporta Hybrid CrossfireX (per l'accelarazione) e PowerXpress (per risparmiare energia) con una scheda grafica dedicata della serie HD 3000.
Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

L335: Processore dual core di fascia base per subnotebooks piccoli e sottili. Basato su un misto dei vecchi K10 / K8 realizzato in 65nm e paragonabile con un Core 2 Duo da 1.2-1.3 GHz.
