Finally, HP has made an excellent gaming laptop that’s worth considering and virtually has no serious drawbacks, except the usual ones that are intrinsic to almost all gaming notebooks – short battery life and heavy construction.

Despite some of its drawbacks, the HP Omen 17 (GTX 1070) makes it to our recommendation list as it has some few strong selling points that need to be considered. Unfortunately, build quality, feel and input devices are not one of them. The lid feels flimsy, the keyboard offers short key travel (and it’s not optimized for gaming) and the touchpad appears to be cheaply made. We’ve criticized the ASUS ROG GL702VS for its lack of premium materials but it still came to be sturdy while the same cannot be said about HP’s Omen 17.

If you are looking for a good gaming laptop, then this must be in your shortlist. Since gamers are very choosy, the final pick will depend on what your gut tell you, but when it comes to experience and performance, you should not really bother much about what the Omen can do. Can this take on the Alienware? Yes. But can it win? That the gamers will tell you better.

Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.
