The Alienware 15 with the GTX 1070 inside is less competitive: Asus, for example, has a $1,600 ROG Strix GL502VS with hardware only a $1,950 Alienware 15 can provide. That’s a significant price discrepancy, so I’d only opt for the higher-end models if you can find one that’s provides particularly good value. The $2,200 configuration, for example, is a respectable price compared to a similar offering from value-friendly Gigabyte.

Bottom line, the AW15R3 is not as cheap as other laptops, and doesn’t offer almost nothing above the competitors like the GT62VR and Clevo P650RP6/P650RS. Not only that, some machines with GTX 1070 can be found for the same price from time to time. I think that for many, the extra connection ports may not be as important as lower price and better thermals and GSync, like in the case of the MSI GT62VR (which has an MXM GPU that can be upgraded).

Alienware AW15R3-3831SLV works as your go-to gaming notebook. No matter the game you throw at it, the system will run it smooth with full eye candy on. The main thanks goes to the GTX 1060 card, however Core i7 processor and 128GB SSD are no less important in making the general use of this computer feel seamless. Provided you got the money, I see a good reason to get this Alienware for great gaming experience!

Alienware laptops have grown up in looks and are modernized--gone is the ultra-chunky and aggressive look. We welcome the modern cooling design and lower heat internals that are very 2016, and the (dare I say) classy looking aluminum and soft touch black finishes. Pricing is more attainable too, and for a few hundred dollars more, you get a more high end look than the competition (honorable mention to the Asus ROG G752 that's out there but still looks like high class goods). Of course, you get an unparalleled AlienFX LED lightshow too, in all its zone programmable chroma goodness--and that can all be turned off with the press of a button so you can take it to work and not be teased.

For a mobile gaming laptop, the Alienware 15 ticks all the right boxes. It has a compact, robust chassis and the inclusion of a powerful VR-ready graphics card should ensure that it easily delivers excellent frame rates when playing 1080p games. Hopefully, it delivers on its opening promise come its release later this year, and I’ll once again be pushing the Alienware 15 as my small-form-factor gaming laptop of choice.

Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.
