Save yourself some money and go with the Strix G15 Advantage ($1,549 - $1,699), which offers over 10 hours of battery life and a more powerful CPU. However, you’ll be missing out on the Predator’s more colorful display and slightly stronger GPU. The Predator Helios 300 is a solid gaming laptop, and is worth considering as long as you’re okay with the poor runtimes and audio.

I favorably reviewed last year’s entry, but the model I tested had a price tag of just $1,199. This new RTX 3070-powered Helios 300 is priced at $1,699, which pits it against serious competition. Alienware’s m15 R4 is currently available with similar hardware for about $1,750 on Dell’s official website, while Razer’s Blade 15 is $1,999, again with similar hardware. These laptops are well worth a small increase in price. Then there’s the deep breath Asus ROG Strix G15 AMD Advantage Edition which, despite its long-winded name, can beat the Helios 300’s performance when ray tracing isn’t a concern.

Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.

Un processore hexa-core ad alte prestazioni progettato per i computer portatili più spessi con spazio per migliori termiche. Il processore Comet Lake-H è prodotto sul processo Intel di terza generazione a 14 nm e dispone della iGPU UHD Graphics 630 con clock da 350 MHz a 1.150 MHz. I core della CPU funzionano a 2.6 GHz (velocità di clock di base) con boosting fino a 5 GHz e la probabile frequenza Boost all-core è di 4.3 GHz. Il supporto Hyper-Threading è abilitato, permettendo a due thread di funzionare simultaneamente su ogni core.
