The Viliv S10 Blade impresses with its resistive multitouch screen and slim form factor, but the tablet trips up when it comes to performance and usability. Also, $797 is a steep price to pay for mediocre performance, even with the long battery life. Users can find similar features and better performance in the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t, which costs $300 less. Overall, the S10 Blade creates the impression of a tablet that’s not quite ready nor yet worth the price.

The S10 is another high quality product from Viliv and a convertible netbook with features and options that very few other devices can match. Battery life is fantastic for a 1.2KG device and the style makes the S10 even more unique. We question the usefulness of multitouch for the average user and feel that 1.2KG is too heavy for long-duration tablet use but at the end of the day, there’s no significant disadvantage to having multitouch or a tablet-capable design.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 500:

Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.

Intel Atom:

La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).

Z530: Versione a risparmio energetico dell'Atom N270 con un supporto Virtualization addizionale e maggiori tecnologie per il risparmio energetico. Le prestazioni sono identiche alla N270 e di conseguenza adatte solo per operazioni poco impegnative.
