Without doubt, the Sony VAIO Fit machines are very impressive. Particularly the one that we have tested here, the Sony VAIO Fit 15E (SVF15212SNB), with an MRP of Rs. 34,990. What you get are fairly standard specs for this price bracket, but the build quality is extremely impressive and the well sculpted looks give it a much more expensive feel. The tested battery life figures point to excellent real world performance. Its only real rival is the HP Sleekbook 15, and the final choice will ideally rest on which one you prefer more. Between the two, the VAIO wins in terms of design and audio performance. The HP Sleekbook is still ahead in terms of how comfortable the keyboard is.

Sony seems to have taken the idea of a Windows convertible to heart. The latest from them is the VAIO Flip 13, following on from the VAIO Duo. But, things aren't what they seem. In the traditional laptop mode, this is pretty much the ultrabook you would have wanted. But, the twisty and bendy bits aren't that impressive, and the "slide this out" and "twist this here" process is something that you will have to remember - it doesn't come naturally. Unless you want an ultrabook that can do all the Matrix style show off, you would be better off spending this much money on a more conventional laptop or ultrabook.

Battery capacity could be better and the keyboard isn’t top of the class but there’s nothing ‘bad’ here. The HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G2 is a portable powerhouse that mixes excellent battery life with impressive performance. I found that it worked better as a laptop or presentation system than a tablet or fold-flat system; in addition, at more than a half-pound overweight, it's tedious to hold as a tablet. And even the entry-level models are surprisingly expensive compared to the competition. Frankly, I was wowed by the Dell XPS 11's ultra-high-resolution screen, its sleek profile and low weight. Easily the best of the bunch at being a tablet, the XPS 11's soft skin is inviting to the touch. Finally, despite having the most complicated hinge design of the three convertibles, the Sony Vaio Fit 11A | Flip PC offered the least number of movement configurations of the three laptops. As a tablet, I found it awkward to hold vertically, while as a laptop, the screen wobbled noticeably and the volume control is hidden behind the display. The Flip does, however, have a nice 5-degree tilt when it's set up on a desk as a tablet.

It wasn’t the best note to depart on, but Sony’s VAIO Fit 15A was one of the more interesting hybrid tablet laptops to come by the GadgetGuy reviews desk. It’s a shame Sony didn’t spend more time refining this concept, because like some of the other hybrid ideas we’ve seen, there’s certainly some promise here, though it would have been nice to see it matched with a better keyboard, stronger battery life, and a little more performance. We’re not sure the $1500 price is warranted for this machine, but you find it for much less and can’t decide on what you need, the VAIO Fit 15A is an interesting middle ground.

Più Flop che Flip. Il concetto unico dei convertibili Sony ha prodotto una serie di notebook Flip molto belli che competono all'interno dello spazio degli ibridi notebook-tablet. Il Flip 14 è sicuramente molto bello, ma bisogna fare di più che soddisfare la vista... e non tutto il resto è così bello.

Sony: Sony Corporation è una delle più grandi aziende di elettronica giapponesi. L'azienda è stata fondata nel 1946 con un nome diverso e inizialmente produceva cuociriso. L'azienda ha lanciato la prima radio a transistor. Nel 1958, la società fu ribattezzata Sony. Sony è una combinazione della parola latina sonus (suono) e della parola inglese sonny (ragazzino). Oggi il suo core business è l'elettronica di consumo. L'azienda è impegnata nello sviluppo, progettazione, produzione e vendita di apparecchiature elettroniche, strumenti, dispositivi, console di gioco e software. Sony opera nei seguenti segmenti: giochi e servizi di rete, musica, immagini, home entertainment e audio, prodotti e soluzioni di imaging, comunicazioni mobili, semiconduttori, servizi finanziari e altri.
La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).
Intel HD Graphics 4000: Processore grafico high end tra i modelli Ivy Bridge. Offre una differente velocità clock nei diversi modelli di CPU (da ULV a desktop quad core) e di conseguenza con prestazioni variabili.

GPU ULV integrata (GT2) con 20 EUs che si trova su alcuni processori Haswell.
Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 735M: Scheda grafica di fascia media della serie GeForce GT 700M. Si basa sull'architettura Kepler (GK208) ed è realizzata da TSMC in 28nm.

Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.
Intel HD Graphics 2000: Scheda grafica integrata nel processore Intel Sandy Bridge (Core ix-2xxx). La 2000 è la versione più lenta, internamente chiamata GT1, con 6 Execution Units (EUs).
Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail): GPU Bay Trail SoCs integrata per tablet e notebook. Si basa sulla GPU Ivy Bridge con quattro Execution Units e supporta DirectX 11.
Intel HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge): L'Intel HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge) è una scheda grafica integrata nei processori mobile Ivy Bridge (Celeron e Pentium). E' il successore della Intel HD Graphics 2000 delle CPUs Sandy Bridge ed ha prestazioni tra la vecchie GPU HD 2000 e la 3000.
