Con l'Aspire ES1-731G, Acer offre un semplice portatile da 17.3" da ufficio o per casa. Il processore è adatto ad applicazioni internet e da ufficio. Grazie alla scheda grafica dedicata, riesce a far girare qualche gioco. Tuttavia, questo vale per giochi davvero datati. Il portatile non si scalda e resta silenzioso indipendentemente dal carico di lavoro.

Grazie all'hard drive da 1 TB non vi mancherà spazio. E' possibile sostituire l'HDD con un SSD, ma occorre aprire il case. Il computer non ha una cover di manutenzione. La tastiera ha una buona digitazione ed è adatta alle applicazioni di videoscrittura. L'autonomia non importa molto su un portatile da 17.3". Visto il prezzo, il display di questo Acer va bene. Positivo: Acer include anche una garanzia di due anni in un segmento a basso prezzo.

La combinazione di una CPU debole ed di una scheda grafica entry-level è interessante per coloro che giocano occasionalmente e non sono dei fanatici.

Il nostro modello di test costa circa 450 Euro (~$502). Un po' troppo per un dispositivo con queste prestazioni. In confronto il Lenovo G70-80 80FF00K5GE (Core i3-5005U, GeForce 920M) era disponibile per circa 480 Euro (~$536) al momento del test ed aveva CPU e GPU con prestazioni nettamente superiori all'Aspire.
