L'HP EliteBook 820 G2 è l'aggiornamento Broadwell del modello 820 G1. Solo i componenti interni sono cambiati dato che l'esterno è rimasto identico. La nuova combinazione CPU-GPU garantisce un discreto aumento delle prestazioni. Inoltre, c'è un case di fascia alta, l'ottima e sofisticata manutenibilità e ottimi dispositivi di input. Il dispositivo non scalda molto e funziona silenziosamente. Sfortunatamente, la ventola genera un rumore di fondo abbastanza fastidioso. Il modem LTE permette l'accesso ad internet anche in mobilità. Ci è piaciuto anche lo schermo IPS, luminoso e contrastato. Nel complesso si applica lo stesso verdetto del predecessore Haswell:
