Schermo discutibile. HP è uno dei primi produttori che utilizza la Kaby Lake nella sua linea 400 ProBook del segmento business. Nella nostra recensione vedremo perché questo modello da 15.6" non ha convinto nonostante i molti aspetti positivi.

I tempi di risposta del display mostrano quanto sia veloce lo schermo a cambaire da un colore all'altro. Tempi di risposta lenti poccono creare sovrapposizioni negloi oggetti in movimento. Specialmente i giocatori patiti del 3D dovrebbero usare uno schermo con rempi di risposta bassi.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

The frequency of 50 Hz is very low, so the flickering may cause eyestrain and headaches after extended use.

Il ProBook 450 G4 è un solid dispositivo: il case è decente e non ha grosse pecche, i punti di appoggio dei polsi sono buoni, e il dispositivo ha una ampia gamma di porte che include USB Type-C. Sebbene questa porta non sia in grado di fare null'altro che una USB, ha una fondamentale sicurezza per il futuro. Il processore offre prestazioni decenti, la tastiera è adatta alla digitazione, e il touchpad corrisponde allo standard Precision. Inoltre, c'è una buona autonomia che è sicuramente attraente per lavorare quando si è in giro.

Sfortunatamente, questo non compensa le pecche del dispositivo: in particolare lo schermo. Questo potrebbe essere giustificato dal prezzo di 600 Euro (~$627), ma non è accettabile con un prezzo di quasi 1000 Euro (~$1045). Poi ci sono altre pecche: il lettore di impronte digitali è poco affidabile e si scalda molto sotto carico. HP dovrebbe consentire alla ventola di girare con una velocità leggermente superiore.

Peccato: il produttore rovina un pacchetto buono con uno schermo del tutto inappropriato considerando il prezzo.

Il ProBook ha appena qualche concorrente nel settore business almeno in termini di processore. Tuttavia, questo cambierà presto: il ThinkPad E570 è stato annunciato, e sarà un interessante confronto con il pannello IPS e la GeForce 950M. Gli altri concorrenti forse arriveranno nel in 2017.
