A primo impatto, il refresh sembra solo una semplice nuova edizione con più VRAM. Design, connettività, dispositivi di input, e display sono quasi identici alla prima versione.

La principale modifica resta nascosta a primo impatto, ma dopo un po si nota: nessun altro portatile da 15" high-end è fresco come il Predator 15 secondo i nostri rilievi. Acer ha migliorato la (già buona) ventola della precedente versione.

Coloro che non vogliono essere distratti dal calore delle mani saranno contenti.

Il produttore merita una lode anche per gli utili tools, l'autonomia della batteria e il set di feature. Non tutti i portatili gaming hanno una porta USB 3.1 con supporto Thunderbolt 3. Il drive sostituibile è un'altro highlight.

Punti deboli sono le dimensioni ( il case è molto ingombrante), la scarsa possibilità di manutenzione e il touchpad, troppo basso e separato dai pulsanti del mouse. Inoltre, è un peccato che il display intenro non supporti G-Sync.
