L'Asus GL551JK è un portatile gaming da 15.6". Il processore Core i7 ha una potenza più che sufficiente per tutti gli scenari possibili e la GPU GeForce può gestire tutti i giochi attuali. Anche se l'hardware è molto potente, il notebook si riscalda moderatamente e rimane silenzioso anche sotto sforzo. Grazie ad un disco a stato solido veloce, il sistema è molto reattivo . Il display Full-HD IPS è luminoso e dotato di un buon rapporto di contrasto.

Non tutti apprezzeranno le modifiche che Asus ha apportato al successore di GL550JK. Nel complesso, i cambiamenti sono positivi e il nuovo notebook è migliorato rispetto al modello precedente.
