In review: Dell Latitude 12 E7270. Test model coutesy of Dell Germany

L'update Skylake della linea Latitude 7000 12 non delude. Con l'E7270, Dell lancia un dispositivo solido e ben realizzato sul mercato che in particolare piace in termini di elevata mobilità. Lo schermo ha una elevata luminosità di oltre 300 nits, oltre anche le specifiche Dell, l'autonomia è sorprendente, e il dispositivo è molto compatto, leggero e sottile. Grazie al case robusto, l'utente non deve preoccuparsi durante il trasporto. Inoltre, l'E7270 è estremamente flessibile con buona varietà di porte che sono posizionate bene grazie alla tradizionale costruzione top-base. L'E7270 pertanto dovrebbe fare il suo lavoro di macchina da ufficio e da portarsi in giro. Le classiche features business (security, docking port) sono presenti.

Una raccomandazione all'acquisto può essere fatta per il gruppo target (utenti mobile business). Tuttavia, questo vale anche per l'HP 820 G3 ed il Lenovo ThinkPad X260. I dettagli in questo caso fanno la differenza. Il Latitude non ha un TrackPoint, cosa piuttosto insolita nel settore business, ed è uno svantaggio rispetto alla concorrenza. Sebbene sia in vantaggio per l'autonomia grazie alla grande batteria da 55 Wh, il concorrente Lenovo resiste con la sua tecnologia Power Bridge. Un altro punto debole dell'E7270 è la riproduzione del colore. Tuttavia, il dispositivo Lenovo è solo leggermente migliore (il modello HP è stato testato solo con uno schermo HD, un paragone non corretto).

Dell realizza un dispositivo da ufficio solido e competitivo. Tuttavia, il Latitude avrà vita difficile contro il Dell XPS 13 in tema di features business.

Le cose si complicano se si guarda oltre il settore business. Il Dell XPS 13 offre uno schermo migliore e più grande, un design più moderno con base sottile, e anche una Thunderbolt ad un prezzo inferiore. D'altro canto la sua espandibilità non è altrettanto buona, e il dispositivo non ha specifiche features business che si trovano nel subnotebook concorrente.
