All things said, the MSI GT660 is a very good gaming laptop for a price of Rs. 1,39,999 with two year international warranty. The 17-inch Alienware M17x currently packs in a better processor (Core i7-820QM) and graphics (ATI Radeon HD 4870M) and comes with a 1920x1200 widescreen display, but lesser RAM and hard drive space for Rs. 1,48,999. Still, the MSI GT660 provides a great balance between performance and portability, sitting between the highly portable Alienware M11x and the heavyweight Alienware M17x. And the MSI GT660 has superior onboard sound courtesy of its Dynaudio speakers. If you’re shopping for a portable gaming laptop, be sure to consider the MSI GT660.

The $1,849 MSI GT660 is a solid mid-size gaming rig that balances portability with powerful graphics. However, we wish that the screen resolution was higher than 1366 x 768, and that MSI made a few different choices when it came to keyboard design. Consumers willing to sacrifice portability for greater performance and a larger, 18-inch full HD screen may prefer the Qosmio X505, which is just $50 more. And for true portability, the Alienware M11x can't be beat. Still, there's something to be said for notebooks like the MSI GT660 that sit in the middle, offering a great gaming experience without overwhelming your back.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285M: Un clock leggermente superiore alla GTX 280M che si basa ancora sul core G92b. Circa del 3-6% più veloce.

Queste schede grafiche sono paragonabili alle entusiasmanti schede grafiche desktop, come la 9800M GT. Le schede hanno un core simile alle relative schede desktop, ma hanno un clock inferiore e spesso hanno processori con meno ombre. I giochi moderni come Age of Conan, Race Driver Grid, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, o Gothic 3 dovrebbero scorrere in modo fluido con dettagli elevati (Crysis dovrebbe funzionare con dettagli medio alti).

Intel Core i7:

620M: Il Core i7-620M e la CPU Dual-Core più veloce per portatili (al momento del lancio nel 2010). La 620M ha un clock tra i 2.66 ed i 3.33 GHz grazie al Turbo Mode ed all'Hyperthreading, possono essere eseguiti 4 simultaneamente. Nella confezione, Intel include anche una GPU integrata (GMA HD) ed un controller di memoria. Di conseguenza, il TDP di 35 Watt dell'intero pacchetto risulta comunque buono.

16.0": Le varianti di display da 16 pollici esistono sin dal 2008 ed hanno parzialmente assorbito la fetta di mercato dei portatili da 15 pollici. La ragione per cui così tante persone preferiscono displays con dimensioni medie dipende dal fatto che tale dimensione non crea particolari problemi alla vista, non richiede troppa energia ed i portatili riescono ad avere dimensioni abbastanza compatte.
