The ThinkPad Edge series was introduced at the beginning of 2010, and was pitched as a sexier, more affordable midrange alternative to a venerable but staid ThinkPad line. The budget-minded Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 14 does its job as a solid small-business laptop, and Lenovo finally throws in a DVD drive, but it's too chunky compared with svelte competitors.

Like its fellow Edge notebooks, the Edge 14 is a good buy for Small Business users. In an ideal world the battery life would be better, but for small business employees and owners who want a durable machine with many of the ThinkPad features the Edge 14 offers significant value at $649. If portability and battery life is an issue then you should check out the Lenovo Edge 13 review and if you want a bigger screen then the Lenovo Edge 15 might be a better fit; even though it has similarly poor battery life.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics:

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

Intel Core i3:

330M: La Core i3-330M è una 350M con un clock inferiore e di conseguenza manca della feature Turbo Boost ed ha un clock con un massimo di 2.13 GHz. Grazie all'Hyperthreading, possono essere processati 4 threads contemporaneamente. Nel pacchetto sono inclusi anche una scheda grafica integrata (GMA HD 3150) ed un controller di memoria DDR3.

14.0": I display da 14 pollici sono un misto tra i formati piccoli dei subnotebooks ed i 15 pollici dei display standard. La ragione per cui così tante persone preferiscono displays con dimensioni medie dipende dal fatto che tale dimensione non crea particolari problemi alla vista, non richiede troppa energia ed i portatili riescono ad avere dimensioni abbastanza compatte.

2.5 kg: Questo peso è medio per i notebooks. Di conseguenza la numerosità di portatili con schermo da 14-15 pollici è condizionata proprio dal peso.
