EN→ITWe've already discussed our thoughts on the UL80Vt and G51J - you can read the details on pages two and three. Both are great laptops, and while we didn't give either the coveted Gold award they are closer than we've come in quite some time. For those that are wondering, anything earning a Bronze Editors' Choice is (at least in my mind) a 90% score; Silver means 93%, and Gold means 95% or higher. Basically, Gold awards are reserved for unequivocal recommendations, and we do have a few minor complaints with both of these laptops, mostly oriented around the LCDs.

EN→ITASUS' UL80Vt is a 14in notebook that's built for people who want plenty of features and good speed, yet want a laptop that's reasonably light and capable of lasting a long time away from a power outlet. If a reasonably thin and light notebook with excellent battery life sounds like your cup of tea, then the ASUS UL80Vt is for you. At 14in it's easy to use, yet not a burden to carry around. It's well built, looks good and performs well, but it does lack some connectivity options such as eSATA.

EN→ITThe UL80Vt isn't perfect though. While the keyboard was stellar and the multi-touch aspect of the trackpad were a plus, we still aren't into the dimpled pad and the glossy LCD. For those working outdoors, this screen could potentially be a major nuisance. Also, the relatively low 1366x768 resolution is nothing to write home about, and the slower 5400rpm (320GB) hard drive isn't all that quick when it comes time to boot or load applications for the first time. Still, we think the positives far outweigh the negatives when all things are considered. For just over $800, this is a really well-rounded machine.

NVIDIA GeForce G 210M: La Nividia GeForce G210M o G 210 M è una scheda grafica DirectX 10.1 per portatili che si basa sul core GT218. Come il suo predecessore, sfrutta 16 shaders ma il clock rates è stato notevolmente incrementato. Grazie alla realizzazione in 40nm (rispetto ai 55nm della G110M) il consumo massimo di energia resta invariato.
Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

Intel Core 2 Duo: Questo è il successore del Core Duo e del Core Solo con una pipeline più lunga ed il 5-20% di velocità in più senza avere maggiore consumo di energia. Come aggiunta al design del Core Duo esiste un quarto decoder, una unità amplificata SSE ed una unità logica aritmetica (ALU) addizionale. Il Core 2 Duo per portatili è identico al processore per desktop Core 2 Duo ma il processore per portatili lavora con un voltaggio inferiore (0.95 a 1188 Volt) ed un Frontside bus clock inferiore (1066 vs 667 MHz). Le prestazioni di portatili con clock equivalenti sono inferiori del 20-25% rispetto ai PCs Desktop a causa del Frontside bus clock inferiore e agli hard disks più lenti.

14.0": I display da 14 pollici sono un misto tra i formati piccoli dei subnotebooks ed i 15 pollici dei display standard. La ragione per cui così tante persone preferiscono displays con dimensioni medie dipende dal fatto che tale dimensione non crea particolari problemi alla vista, non richiede troppa energia ed i portatili riescono ad avere dimensioni abbastanza compatte.

2.2 kg: Questo portatile è più leggero rispetto alla media di tutti i notebooks. Ma è troppo pesante per essere un sub-notebooks.
