EN→ITIt's clear that ASUS did their homework in putting together a competitive midrange notebook. The $900 price point was probably set by Amazon from the start, and ASUS has done everything they can to provide a quality mobile solution while stretching the available budget as far as possible. There are laptops that are smaller with better battery life, but they're also slower. Other laptops provide similar performance and better battery life, but they cost more. The one thing that nearly every other option is currently missing is NVIDIA's Optimus Technology, and that gives the ASUS and the N61Jv a clear leg up over the competition.

EN→ITMy overall experience with the ASUS N61Jv was extremely positive thanks to the performance the Core i5 processor and NVIDIA GT325M GPU offer, the large screen and keyboard/touch pad combination. For a 16-in notebook coming in over 6 lbs, which definitely puts it closer to the desktop replacement category than the thin and light, getting 2 hours and 23 minutes in our very strenuous battery testing was actually pretty solid making leaving without your power cord at least an option. The added goodies like USB 3.0 support definitely add the value of a notebook that sells for $899 which should make it a great option for a summer or fall college-bound consumer or anyone else on the lookout for this combination.

Right now there isn't any competition from other manufacturers, but you expect others to follow suit soon.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Incorporated, è una azienda multinazionale Taiwanese, che produce schede madre, schede grafiche, drives ottici, PDAs, monitors, portatili, servers, prodotti per il networking, telefoni cellulari, cases per computer, componenti per computer, e sistemi di raffreddamento per computer. I ricavi aziendali nel 2007 hanno raggiunto i 6.9 miliardi di dollari. ASUS produce anche componenti per altre aziende. L'Eee PC ha lanciato il boom dei netbook nel 2008.
Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M: La Nividia GeForce GT 240M è una scheda grafica DirectX 10.1 per portatili che si basa su un core GT216. E' il successore della GT 130M e tecnicamente è una GT 230M con un clock superiore. Grazie ai 48 shader cores, dovrebbe avere prestazioni nettamente superiori rispetto alla GT 130M e grazie alla realizzazione in 40nm il consumo di energia dovrebbe essere invariato.
Il core della GT230M è chiamato GT216 ed in base a quanto dichiarato da Nvidia si basa sull'architettura desktop di fascia alta (serie GTX 200).
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730:
Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M:

Intel Core 2 Quad:
Q9000: CPU quad core (4 cores) con un clock lento che soffre in particolare con molti giochi proprio a causa della lentezza del clock. Di conseguenza, non è adatto ai giochi e per le applicazioni non multi threaded.
Intel Core i5:
430M: Il Core i5-430M è una CPU dual core di media classe che sfrutta solo 3 MB di L3 Cache (rispetto alla I7-640M) ed ha un clock tra 2.26-2.53 GHz (Turbo Mode). Inoltre, nella 430M mancano VT-d, trusted Execution e funzioni AES. Grazie all'Hyperthreading, possono essere gestiti 4 threads contemporaneamente. Nel pacchetto sono incluse anche una scheda grafica integrata (Intel HD Graphics da 500-733 MHz) ed un controller memoria DDR3.
520M: Il Core i5-520M ha solo 3 MB di L3 Cache (rispetto alla I7-640M) ed un clock tra 2.4-2.93 GHz (Turbo Mode). Grazie all'Hyperthreading, possono essere processati 4 threads contemporaneamente. Nel pacchetto è inclusa anche una scheda grafica (GMA HD 3150) ed un controller memoria DDR3.
Intel Core i7:
720QM: Il Core i7-720QM è il Core i7 Quad più lento del 2009 ed ha un clock tra 1.6 e 2.8 GHz (grazie al Turbo Mode). Di conseguenza, il processore combina i vantaggi delle veloci CPUs single core e delle lente CPUs quad-core. Rispetto alle più veloci CPUs Core i7, la 720QM ha solo 6MB di L3 Cache.
Intel Core i3:
16.0: Le varianti di display da 16 pollici esistono sin dal 2008 ed hanno parzialmente assorbito la fetta di mercato dei portatili da 15 pollici. La ragione per cui così tante persone preferiscono displays con dimensioni medie dipende dal fatto che tale dimensione non crea particolari problemi alla vista, non richiede troppa energia ed i portatili riescono ad avere dimensioni abbastanza compatte.

2.699 kg:
Questo portatile è più leggero rispetto alla media di tutti i notebooks. Ma è troppo pesante per essere un sub-notebooks.
