Il test di utilizzo quotidiano conferma che il 4810T che abbiamo provato costituisce una soluzione davvero interessante per chi è alla ricerca di un notebook dotato di ottime doti di autonomia in mobilità, ma che non gradisce sacrificare eccessivamente le performance del suo notebook. Un laptop dunque, il 4810T, che rompe la barriera del notebook ultra portatile il quale però, sul piano delle performance, non è in grado di affrontare del tutto i task quotidiani. Un notebook che sa coniugare stile, portabilità e performance. Una serie, la TimeLine di Acer, della quale fanno parte tutti prodotti interessanti, tra i quali il 4810T probabilmente costituisce l’offerta più oculata, che a fronte di un prezzo medio di 650 € anche sul piano del prezzo si conferma interessante.

Currently retailing for $550*, we were satisfied with the Timeline's overall design and build quality. Ideally we could have used either a bit more processing power or a better quality screen, but for the price we have to admit what you get is more than adequate. With 4GB of RAM the Timeline is a happy multi-tasker also.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: Scheda grafica intregrata basata sul chipset GM45 (Montevina). Più performante rispetto alla vecchia GMA X3100 grazie ha due shader in più ed ad un clock più elevato. Rimane, comunque, non consigliata per i giocatori più incalliti. Il processore video integrato è capace di codificare video HD (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2). Ad esempio permette la riproduzione di video HD compatibile con i requisiti del logo Blu-Ray, con il supporto nativo per unità Blu-Ray.
La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).

14.0": I display da 14 pollici sono un misto tra i formati piccoli dei subnotebooks ed i 15 pollici dei display standard. La ragione per cui così tante persone preferiscono displays con dimensioni medie dipende dal fatto che tale dimensione non crea particolari problemi alla vista, non richiede troppa energia ed i portatili riescono ad avere dimensioni abbastanza compatte.
