AMD FX-8350

L'AMD FX-8350 è un veloce processore desktop octa-core (4 moduli) della serie FX "Vishera". Diversamente dalle APUs come la A10-5800K, i modelli FX non hanno una GPU. Tuttavia, la FX-8350 integra un controller di memoria DDR3-1866 ed un moltiplicatore sbloccato per un facile overclocking.

Il design del chip si basa sull'architettura Bulldozer (cores Piledriver), che consiste nei cosiddetti moduli. Ognuno dei quattro moduli integra 2 unità integer, ma una sola FPU. Vishera supporta quasi tutte le attuali tecniche come la AVX (inclusa la FMA), AES o Turbo Core.

In termini di prestazione, la FX-8350 non regge il confronto con i più competitivi modelli Intel. In media, le prestazioni sono quasi alla pari con il processore Core i5 della generazione Ivy Bridge, ma possono esserci differenze significative in base all'applicazione. Con vari software di confronto la FX-8350 raggiunge la più costosa Core i7-3770K, mentre le applicazioni meno ottimizzate risulteranno particolarmente più lente.

Il consumo energetico di tutto il chip è di 125 watts (TDP).
